First we were familiar with the heat of black peppercorns (piper nigrum). Then pink pepper which hails from an evergreen tree,  and the piquant, almost numbing sichuan pepper started being popularised in fragrance. Now many perfumers are playing with Timut pepper, which is tingly with a hint of grapefruit, lime, passion fruit, and even floral elements. Yum. Practically a perfume in its own right.
